THE STORY

Nearly 25 years since the debut of 2000 film “Gone in 60 Seconds®,” the 1967 Mustang fastback Eleanor® hero-car still resonates with car collectors and the general public alike. Frequently seen at car shows and auctions, most of the look-alikes are pieced together from aftermarket kits. However, this 1967 fastback is an Officially Licensed Eleanor® Tribute Edition with certification paperwork and the body VIN plate and emblems issued by Gone in 60 Seconds® LLC, the owner of the Eleanor® licensing rights.

During the fastback’s rotisserie restoration, the Mustang was equipped with movie-correct body modifications, including the iconic front end with extra fog and driving lights, a raised fiberglass hood, side-exit dual exhaust and a spoilered rear end with sequential tail lights and Eleanor®-style flip-up fuel door in the C–pillar. Painted in two-stage Pepper Gray Metallic PPG paint with black striping, like the movie car, the accurate recreation is loaded with high-performance potential, starting under the hood with a Ford FE 427 CI V–8 with FAST short-stack electronic fuel injection, as built by Wayne’s Engines in Riverside, California. A Tremec 5-speed transmission sends the big-block power to a Ford 9-inch rear end with 31-spline Positraction differential and Motor Performance 3.50 gears. A powdercoated subframe assembly with tubular front frame rails and subframe connectors provides a stout platform for the modern suspension that includes adjustable front coilovers, a Watts-link semi-floating rear with pivot and swingarms, QA1 rear coilover shocks, rack-and-pinion steering and Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes.

In addition to the Mustang Deluxe interior’s center console and fold-down seat, the cabin is also equipped with a modern Ididit tilt steering column, Vintage Air, a vintage-style steering wheel, LED lighting and a Retro Sound stereo with Bluetooth. Included with the sale is a professionally assembled and framed 30×40-inch presentation with the official movie poster and signed photos of cast members Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie.
